Business Operations Program Manager — Software Engineering

The Business Operations Program Manager supports Apple's Software Engineering organisation by coordinating strategic business operations, programme execution and organisational planning across large-scale technical teams. The role combines operational management, strategy, analytical problem-solving and cross-functional programme leadership to improve organisational effectiveness and enable engineering teams to operate efficiently at scale. The position works closely with senior stakeholders and functional partners to identify priorities, develop operating mechanisms, improve workflows and turn complex business requirements into structured programmes and measurable outcomes.

Lead and coordinate business operations programmes supporting large-scale software engineering organisations.

Develop operating plans, programme structures and processes that improve organisational effectiveness.

Partner with engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to identify strategic priorities and operational requirements.

Translate complex organisational and business challenges into structured initiatives and executable programmes.

Develop analyses, reporting and management information that support leadership decision-making.

Coordinate programme milestones, dependencies, deliverables and stakeholder communication.

Improve workflows and operational processes using modern productivity, analytical and automation tools.

Support strategic planning, organisational initiatives and continuous improvement across the software engineering function.

Prepare presentations, reports and other executive-level materials for leadership discussions.

Work across multiple teams to maintain alignment and ensure programmes progress against agreed objectives.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

At least 4 years of experience in business operations, strategy, programme management or a related function supporting large-scale technical organisations.

Strong programme-management and organisational skills.

Ability to work cross-functionally with technical teams and senior stakeholders.

Strong analytical ability and experience translating data or complex information into actionable recommendations.

Advanced proficiency with spreadsheet tools such as Numbers or Excel.

Strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills.

Experience with business-intelligence or organisational-management tools is advantageous.

Experience using modern AI-enabled productivity tools and workflows is preferred.

MBA or another relevant advanced degree is preferred.
